The Pediatric Family Advisory Board is dedicated to the improvement of services in patient and family care at Medical City Children's Hospital. Board membership is comprised of 10-12 past and present family members, as well as members of the Medical City Children's Hospital leadership team who represent diverse service line experiences. Membership is governed by the Board based on recommendations by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and other hospital leadership advisors.
Medical City Children's Hospital recognizes patients and their families are often the most knowledgeable members of the care team and offer unique perspectives and valuable feedback regarding the standard of care received. This shared relationship enables the Family Advisory Board, which meets on a bi-monthly basis, to accomplish the following:
- Act as catalysts and advocates to integrate patient-centered care across the institution
- Develop resources for patient and families to help them navigate their care across the continuum
- Identify patient and family needs and concerns
- Provide feedback on current systems and processes in the hospital
- Provide the "voice of the customer" through the patient and family perspective
- Review and recommend best practices on key patient safety and service excellence improvement efforts
- Improve systems, processes, quality, safety and efficiency of care through collaboration between Medical City Children's Hospital and the communities that we serve
